This month, our topic is “All About Me”, and we have had a wonderful time exploring our senses and discovering what our bodies can do!

Last week, we continued learning about our senses, with a special focus on hearing, smell and taste. We played fun sound-discrimination games, listening carefully to recognise familiar sounds from everyday life.

We also explored our sense of smell by creating beautiful flowers using cotton wool scented with different aromas.

For our sense of taste, we enjoyed role-play activities and talked about different foods, discovering what we like and don’t like. This encouraged the children to express their preferences and share their experiences.

This week, we have been focusing on our bodies in movement. We explored basic actions through traffic lights, practising different movements.

We then worked on body control and the concepts of fast and slow using songs and movement.

Finally, we had lots of fun playing “Copy Me”, imitating actions such as up and down, while developing listening, coordination and body awareness.

What a fun and active couple of weeks!
